PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL DRIVER AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF, CAPABLE OF SHORTENING RESET PERIOD

PURPOSE: A plasma display panel driver for shortening a reset period and a driving method thereof are provided to reset stably discharge cells by increasing a first rising waveform by a high voltage within a short period of time. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel includes a reset period for resetting a discharge cell. The reset period includes a first rising waveform supply process and a second rising waveform supply process. The first rising waveform supply process is to supply a first rising waveform(Ramp-ex). The first rising waveform increases in an exponential function. The second rising waveform supply process is to supply a second rising waveform(Ramp-up) having a constant gradient. The method for driving the plasma display panel further includes an address period for selecting the discharge cell and a sustain period for supplying a sustain pulse to the discharge cell.
