PURPOSE: A method for storing additional data on menu data is provided to enable a user to subjectively summarize video contents based on grouping results thanks to additional picture data of each thumbnail picture, while applying an automatic clustering method to each playlist or between different playlists, so that the user can browse all thumbnail pictures and clip information. CONSTITUTION: Control data related to menu item data(P) is stored within an index file(TIDX). The menu item data(P) is stored within a data file(TDT) in fixed size of blocks(TNB_0,...TNB_n) or fixed size of blocks having a double of fixed numbers. Additional data(DO,...D2) are stored in the same blocks(TNB_0,...TNB_n) as the corresponding menu item data(P) of the data file(TDT). The additional data(DO,...D2) are referred from the index file(TIDX).
