FIELD: woodworking industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of environmentally friendly construction elements, materials or coatings used in construction, furniture industry, for manufacturing packaging, granulated or briquetted fuels, etc. Invention can be used for manufacturing various construction elements such as compressed construction square timber, slabs, blocks, panels, tiling, profiled and base members, pavements for sports grounds, parquet batten, filling materials, heat insulation, acoustic insulation, moisture-proofing, for brushing or putty-knifing, or applying by any other known method onto surfaces, for manufacturing trays, golf facilities, etc. Wood-based composition includes environmentally safe binding component and, as wood base, birch bark separated into outside layer and inner bark divided to 0.1 to 50 mm in particle size. Wood base may be made from only outside layer or only inner bark, or from their mixture at simplified ratio. Binding component can be selected from tall oil and tall pitch. Composition may further include a functional additive, for instance fire retardant. Before components are used in the composition, birch bark or their components can be treated to isolate chemicals, in particular biologically active substances. ^ EFFECT: increased density, strength, waterproofness, and resistance against microorganisms and fungi at simultaneously reduced toxicity of products during manufacture and application. ^ 8 cl, 4 tbl |
