PURPOSE: A tail yarn cutting device of a spinning machine is capable of shortening tail yarn of a spindle base part at stopping doffing without complicated motion of a ring rail. CONSTITUTION: A tail yarn cutting device of a spinning machine is automatically wound at re-starting the spinning machine after inserting an empty bobbin onto a spindle from which cop is pulled up by a doffing device. The tail yarn cutting device comprises: a blade(5a) extended from a spindle base part(5b) in an upper direction; a tail yarn cutting member(8) which is installed on the blade(5a) to be capable of elevating, containing a bobbin inserting part(9) inserted the bobbin and a cutter part(10) installed on a lower part than the bobbin inserting part(9); plural convex parts(13a)(13b) and concave parts(14a)(14b) installed on the lower end of the tail yarn cutting member(8) and an upper end of the spindle base part(5b) opposed to the lower end of the tail yarn cutting member(8), and engaged with each other; and a regulating device which is installed between the tail yarn cutting member(8) and the blade(5a), regulating the tail yarn cutting member(8) from elevating beyond a position that the tail yarn cutting member(8) is contacted with the spindle base part(5b) during doffing. A lower end of the tail yarn cutting member(8) is contacted with the spindle base part(5b), so is capable of gripping tail yarn between the spindle base part(5b) and the lower end.
