PURPOSE: A headrest for a vehicle is provided to secure a convenient driving condition by easily adjusting a neck support mounted at the headrest according to personal body conditions of drivers. CONSTITUTION: In a vehicle having seats, a headrest for the vehicle is composed of a body unit mounted at an upper part of the seat to support heads of passengers and formed with a guide groove therein; a guide bar(7) for moving along the guide groove of the body unit and having a rack gear(11) at the side; a neck support member(5) installed at one end of the guide bar; a regulating member(20) having a pinion gear(22) formed at one end to correspond to the rack gear arranged at the side of the guide bar to move the neck support member and a knob unit(24) formed at the other end; and an elastic return member(50) for applying elastic force to engage the rack gear with the pinion gear only in applying the constant power on the regulating member and to prevent the rack gear and pinion gear from being engaged to each other in removing the power.
