Process for construction of a carbon-heteroatom bond by reaction of an unsaturated compound substituted with a parting group and a nucleophilic compound containing a heteroatom capable of substituting for the leaving group. The reaction takes place in the presence of a catalyst based on a transition metal, optionally a ligand, and a metallic or ammonium hydroxide associated with an alcoholic solvent.
