The method uses an elastomeric or thermoplastic wiper forming a profiled strip (3) which is fixed on a sheet (5) forming the lower part of the frame (6) of a door leaf which has a sliding glass pane (V). The method involves gluing the body of the seal strip against the sheet. The gluing operation can use a layer of heat fusible glue, the heating being effected prior to assembly of the joint.
