PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring terminal device for reducing the communication management cost while warranting sure communication. SOLUTION: The monitoring terminal device characterized in to include: telephone terminals connected to one telephone line (S); a splitter 103 connected to the telephone terminals; an ADSL MODEM 101 and an analog MODEM 102 branch-connected to the telephone terminals by the splitter 103; a terminal board 104 to which a plurality of various sensors 105 are connected; and an information processing section 100 having a transmission port leading to the ADSL MODEM and a transmission port leading to the analog MODEM, interposed between the terminal board and the two MODEMs, generating a monitoring information signal on the basis of a sensor state signal obtained from the terminal board and transmitting the signal from the transmission port of either of the MODEMs, and the information processing section 100 is provided with a transmission port decision means for deciding from which MODEM transmission port the monitoring information signal is transmitted.
