PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightning stroke reducing device 10 capable of maintaining surface (14) temperature of a protected machine body at a desired level. SOLUTION: This lightning stroke reducing device 10 protecting a surface 14 includes an inner side thermal insulation layer 12 adjacent to the surface 14 to be protected, an outer side thermal insulation layer 18, and an intermediate layer 16 formed by an electrical conductive material between the inner side thermal insulation layer 12 and the outer side thermal insulation layer 18. The inner side thermal insulation layer 12 and the outer side thermal insulation layer 18 may be formed by an ablation thermal insulation material containing no metallic additive or an ablation thermal insulation material containing nickel additive of 15 % or an ablation thermal insulation material containing nickel additive of 30 %. The electrical conductive material may be a netlike material or a foil material selected from an electrical conductive material or a group of electrical conductive materials.
