The invention relates to a filter device for detachably inserting into a vacuum cleaner, said filter device comprising a retaining frame (1) which supports filter material (2) between an opening (4) on the flow side and a blow-out opening (7). Said filter device also comprises an air conducting device for diverting air flowing out of the blow-out opening (7). According to the invention, the filter device comprises means (10) in order to achieve turbulence of air exiting from the filter without being dependent on blow-out bars arranged on the vacuum cleaner housing, said means diverting the air exiting from the filter material (2) in the direction of the central axis (8) of the blow-out opening (7). Due to the inventive form, turbulence is achieved for the air exiting from the filter material by virtue of the fact that several flow paths of the exiting air intersect each other.
