PURPOSE: An apparatus for preparing a solidified biological assay sample is provided, thereby inhibiting contamination or loss of the biological assay sample during the preparation of the solidified biological assay sample, and allowing solidification of viscous biological assay samples. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for preparing a solidified biological assay sample comprises: a gel type plate(2) let a solvent be permeable and a cover(4); at least one depressed portion(6) which is formed on one side of the plate(2) and contains the biological assay sample(10); and at least one projected portion(8) which is formed on one side of the cover(4) and is inserted into the depressed portion(6) to cover the depressed portion(6), wherein the plate(2) and cover(4) are made of agarose, agar or gelatin.
