<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processing device and a signal processing method which can favorably perform noise reduction. <P>SOLUTION: A motion vector detection part 33 detects a motion vector based on an input video signal and a precedent field video signal precedent by one field from the input video signal. A motion correction part 34 performs motion correction for the precedent field video signal using the motion vector, and creates a motion correction video signal. A reference video setting part 35 selects either the precedent field video signal precedent by one frame from the input signal or the motion correction video signal as a reference video signal. A selection control part 43 performs motion detection using the input video signal and the precedent frame video signal in a region where there is movement, the motion correction video signal is made as the reference video signal, and in a region where there is no movement, the precedent frame video signal is made as the reference video signal. A correction processing part 36 detects a noise component from a difference of the input video signal and the reference video signal, and reduces noise by correcting a signal level of the input video signal corresponding to the noise component. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
