PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently restart transmission and receiving of data without requiring much labor or time even if transmission and receiving of data such as image files is interrupted by an unexpected situation. SOLUTION: In the data processing system 1, when the state enabling transmission and receiving of image files is attained after the interruption of transmission and receiving of image files, negotiations are made between a data processor 110 and a data input device 200 automatically or according to an operator's instruction to prepare for the restart of transmission and receiving of image files. After completion of the negotiations, when a broken image file is included in the image files transmitted and received before the interruption of transmission and receiving of image files, the transmission and receiving is restarted from an image file of the same file name as the broken image file, or when no broken one is included in the image files transmitted before the interruption of transmission and receiving of image files, the transmission and receiving is restarted from an untransmitted image file.
