PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earth retaining structure positively making effective use of material without forming a wall body thicker than required. SOLUTION: In this earth retaining structure with a plurality of caissons 1 lined up in the outer peripheral direction of excavated cross section and sunk in the ground, each caisson 1 is formed in wedge shape from the plane cross section view narrowed in the length dimension toward the inside, and the side end face is formed with a projection 12 or groove 11 to be fitted to a groove 11 or projection 12 vertically extending on the side end face of the adjacent caisson 1. Each caisson 1 is connected to the adjacent caissons 1, and an anchor 2 for supporting the caisson 1 is provided and used also for sinking the caisson 1. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
