PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collecting method in a tunnel, which efficiently sucks and removes dust generated at the time of blasting by employing a simple apparatus, and to provide the apparatus per se. SOLUTION: According to the dust collecting method, the interior of the tunnel which extends rearward over a predetermined distance from a cutting face neighboring area 11, is divided into right and left sections by a vertical partition screen 1 having flexibility, and one of the sections is formed into a dust collecting passage 3 and the other into a blowing passage 4, respectively. Then a dust collector 2 is arranged at a rear edge of the dust collecting passage 3, and suction force of the dust collector 2 is exerted into the cutting face neighboring area 11 via the dust collecting passage 3, whereby dust generated in the cutting face neighboring area 11 is efficiently sucked and removed via the dust collecting passage 3. Further at the time of blasting, the vertical partition screen 1 is folded upward or rearward so as to be protected from influence of the blasting. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
