METHOD FOR PRODUCING LEATHERY SHEET-SHAPED ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a natural leather-like leathery sheet-shaped article excellent in flexibility and stiffness, having stiffness regardless of low resilience, excellent in gravely serious feeling and flexibility and capable of obtaining stuffing effect. SOLUTION: The method for producing the leathery sheet-shaped article comprises applying a silicone-containing treating liquid containing a silicone oil in which a ratio of dimethylpolysiloxane to an amino-modified silicone is (1:9) to (9:1) and a silicone resin in a ratio of (1:3) to (3:1) to a fibrous base material composed of an ultrafine fiber and impregnating and coagulating a polymer elastomer emulsion into the treated base material. The ultrafine fiber is preferably a fiber obtained by dividing a releasable and dividable conjugate fiber and having≤0.5 dtex fineness. It is preferable that the amount of an active ingredient attached in the silicone-containing treating liquid is 5-30 wt.% and the amount of the polymer elastomer attached is 5-50 wt.% based on the weight of the fibrous base metal. The present invention relates to the method for producing the leathery sheet-shaped article simultaneously having both properties of the flexibility and the strong stiffness, having stiffness regardless of low resilience and excellent in gravely serious feeling and flexibility.
