PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slitter blade which is composed of tool steel having high toughness and high wear resistance and is practically free from edge chipping over a long period of time even if used for cutting steel sheets, and to provide a method for manufacturing the slitter blade. SOLUTION: The slitter blade is composed of matrix high speed steel having a composition containing, by mass, Fe as a principal component, 0.7 to 0.9% C, 0.15 to 0.35% Si,≤2% Mn, 5 to 6% Cr, 2.5 to 3.5% Mo and 1.8 to 2.3% V.
