PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin cellulose ester film useful as a protecting film for a polarizing plate increasing its demand according to the increase of the production of liquid crystal display elements, i.e. the polarizing plates, having suppressed bleed-out trouble of the film and effective for preventing the deterioration of the film appearance, preventing the contamination of a roll in the film manufacture process to prevent the deterioration of the appearance of the polarizing plate and improving the visibility of the liquid crystal display. SOLUTION: The cellulose ester film contains an ultraviolet absorber exhibiting liquid state at 25°C and a polyhydric alcohol ester composed of an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol and one or more kinds of monocarboxylic acids. The content of the polyhydric alcohol ester is 4.5-12.5 wt.% based on the cellulose ester. The monocarboxylic acid is a compound having an aromatic ring or a cycloalkyl ring in the molecule and the hydroxy number of the aliphatic polyhydric alcohol is 2-20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
