Determining the concentration of a gas in a gas mixture involves simultaneously measuring the heat conductivity of the gas mixture and the heat conductivity of a comparison gas, and comparing the heat conductivities. The comparison gas is a stable inert gas mixture with heat conductivity at room temperature which is the same as the heat conductivity of the comparison gas component of the gas mixture being analyzed.
