The method involves making an absolute measurement of the received signal, where the received signal is converted, in a comparator, into a rectangular digital signal with a switch threshold which is offset relative to the zero passing point by an offset voltage. Two measurements are made of when the received signal passes through null or zero with different offset voltages. The absolute value of the received signal is determined from the difference.
