Mixtures containing organopolysiloxanes and acids are neutralized by adding salts of carbamic acid or of 1-12C alkylcarbamic acids. A method for the neutralization of mixtures containing organo-polysiloxanes and acids involves adding salts of carbamic acids containing an anion of formula (I). R2N-COO-> (I) R : H or 1-12C alkyl.
