<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and effectively obtaining an extract of a striped bamboo, having antibacterial ad antiviral activities. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the extract of the striped bamboo, containing an extraction component of the striped bamboo comprises a step of extracting the striped bamboo or the extraction component of the striped bamboo with a water-immiscible solvent.
