PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and an image recording apparatus for generating composite image information wherein other additional sub information is embedded into main image information in an invisible state making analog data such as data to be outputted to a recording medium as an object and maintaining electronic watermark information in the recorded composite image information even after recording. SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus applies first pre-process corresponding to pixel forming process of image recording to the main image information, applies second pre-process carrying out geometrical transform to the main image information after the first pre-process, and embeds the sub information to the main image information after the second pre-process in the invisible state to generate the composite image information. The image recording apparatus applies conversion processing inverse to the second pre-process to the generated composite image information, and records the composite image information after the inverse conversion processing to a recording medium by the alternate drive recording system.
