PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize operation of an injector switching injection of fuel and stop by increasing and decreasing pressure of a control chamber applying pressure on a nozzle needle in a valve closing direction. SOLUTION: In a structure having a valve element 321 provided in a valve chamber 62 in which a control chamber side port 63 communicating to the control chamber in which high pressure fuel is introduced and a low pressure port 64 communicating to a low pressure return passage are opened and switching pressure in the control chamber from high pressure to low pressure by closing the low pressure port 64 with the valve element 321, the control chamber side port 63 is opened at a position not opposing to the valve element on a surface 621 on which the low pressure port 64 is opened. Jet of fuel from the control chamber side port 64 does not directly blow on the valve element 321 and is headed toward the low pressure port 64 after reversing a direction at a time that the jet flows in the valve chamber 62 to reduce energy of fuel flow. Consequently flow rate of fuel flowing a gap between the valve element 321 and a seat 621a is stabilized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
