The invention relates to a device for applying, removing and/or storing biological material. Said device comprises at least one support medium (14a; 14b; 14c; 214a; 214b; 214c) for reversibly immobilising the biological material for a predetermined period, in particular for the duration of a diagnosis, a treatment and/or until the application of the biological material. The invention thus provides a minimally invasive device and method which allow the removal of cells for further diagnosis and treatment and maintain the integrity of the tissue, the biological material being directly accessible on the inventive device for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes.
