A package for information carriers, comprising a first and a second cover, preferably mutually pivotally connected, wherein: -one of the cover parts is provided with a bearing surface for an information carrier; -the two cover parts are provided with cooperating coupling means with which the first cover part can be attached to the second cover part while enclosing a space in which an information carrier can be included, which space is provided on one side with a take out opening for at least taking out the information carrier; -one of the cover parts is provided with a slide opening through which said information carrier can be engaged in said space for moving the information carrier at least partly in the direction of and into said take out opening, approximately parallel to a main plane of the two cover parts.
