<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small sized and quickly starting hydrogen manufacturing reformer capable of preventing operation performance from lowering, reducing radiation heat loss, enhancing the whole heat efficiency and obtaining high operation efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: At the inside of an upright circular outer cylinder 10 forming an outside cover of the reformer, a circular intermediate cylinder group 60, a circular inner cylinder 68 and a circular radiation cylinder 14 arranged concentrically in order respectively at certain intervals in the radial direction and a burner 18 fixed at one end in the axial direction of the reformer so that the burner is positioned at the center in the radial direction of the radiation cylinder and a steam generater 34 are provided. A reforming catalyst layer 13, a CO modifying catalyst layer 11 and/or a CO selectively oxidizing catalyst layer 12, a cooling fluid passage 48 for introducing a raw gas to be reformed and reforming water, and a plurality of circular flow passages communicating mutually so that the flow passages may become air passages 42 are formed in a laminar state between the inner cylinder, the intermediate cylinder group and the outer cylinder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
