PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for a fuel cell which can prevent deterioration of insulation characteristics and reduction of the amount of a catalyst as well as reduction of the output power, and to provide the fuel cell using the same.
SOLUTION: A membrane-electrode junction MEA500 is joined by sequentially laminating in the direction to the cathode from the anode in use a hydrogen pole diffusion layer 30a, to a hydrogen pole coated catalyst layer 40a/a hydrogen pole first insulator layer 15a, to a first electrolyte membrane 10, to an oxygen pole first insulator layer 15c, to an oxygen pole coated catalyst layer 40c, and to an oxygen pole diffusion layer 30c. Namely, the electrolyte membrane 10 is joined with the hydrogen pole first insulator layer 15a on the anode side, and with the oxygen pole first insulator layer 15c on the cathode side. Such a constitution can prevent deterioration of the insulation characteristics of the first electrolyte membrane 10 and the reduction of the amount of the catalyst.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
