<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat for a transport vehicle or craft, especially an aircraft, housing at least one armrest into a reduced size and having a suitable lock means. <P>SOLUTION: The seat includes a support structure 1 and at least one armrest 2. At least one armrest includes a rest element 4 and fixed to the support structure around a first transverse shaft 7 to be inclined between a used position and a housed position. A strut 3 has an L shape and includes a first arm 5 and a second arm 6.
