<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recording information by a bar code system in order to increase the volume of information recordable by the bar code system within a fixed area, and to use the bar code as the conventional binary bar code. <P>SOLUTION: Not only black and white colors are used for bars, but also gradation is multi-leveled or a plurality of colors are used to diversify the combination of bar width, color, and gradation, and to increase the recording capacity of information within a fixed area.
