摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize image display for which display quality is secured by adopting a driving method for reducing loads applied to a power source on a driving side when driving an image display device, in particular, employing a capacitive light emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: In the image display device in which scanning lines and data lines are formed on a matrix, light emitting elements are formed at the intersections thereof and a light emitting function is realized, the driving method is for performing a reset operation when the scanning line is selectively switched to the next scanning line when successively driving the scanning lines and realizing the image display. The scanning lines are divided into at least two or more scanning line groups, time is shifted and the reset operation is performed. After reset, division into two or more scanning line groups is performed for a preset operation, the time is shifted and the preset operation is performed. Also, the data lines are divided into two or more data line groups, the time is shifted and data are inputted.
