PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable extension apparatus capable of outputting an audio signal to a video output device together with RGB signals even though four signal lines such as LAN cables are used. SOLUTION: A synchronizing signal superimposing-out means 40 of a signal transmitter 2 transmits any chrominance signal B<SB>P</SB>on which synchronizing signals HD, VD are superimposed and other chrominance signals R, G and an audio signal transmitting means 44 of the signal transmitter 44 transmits an audio signal LRA<SB>PI</SB>to which polarity information PI of the synchronizing signals is added, to a signal receiver 3 bia four signal lines 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D. A synchronizing signal restoring-output means 51 of the signal receiver 3 restores the synchronizing signals HD, VD inputted by the signal transmitter 2 from a synchronizing signal that is separated from the chrominance signal B<SB>P</SB>on the basis of the polarity information PI, and outputs them to the video output device, thereby outputting audio from the video output device together with video from a video input resource in spite of the four signal lines 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D.
