PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To turn off a transistor on the pull-up side at high speed when a mode is switched from an output mode to an input mode in a semiconductor device equipped with a tolerant buffer circuit. SOLUTION: In the semiconductor device equipped with at least a first transistor (P1) for pull-up drive and a second transistor (N1) for pull-down drive at an output stage and having a tri-state buffer circuit which sets output as high level or low level according to a data signal when a control signal (EN) indicates an enable state and sets the output as high impedance state when the control signal (EN) indicates a disable state, it is provided with means (120, P6, P7) for performing control so that transition from an on state to an off state of the first transistor (P1) is sped up in switching the control signal (EN) from the enable state to the disable state.
