PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire for heavy loading that does not cause separation between belt layers even if the tire is flattened, suppresses the separation of the end of the belt layer, and is suitable especially for a flat tire with a flattening rate of 80 or lower. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic radial tire for heavy loading, the outer periphery of a carcass layer 2 in a tread 1 is provided with a first belt layer 1B formed of a steel cord where a cord angle with respect to the tire peripheral direction is 40-60°, and the outer periphery of the first belt layer 1B is provided with at least second and third belt layers 2B and 3B formed of steel cords where cord angles with respect to the tire peripheral direction are 10-30°. A reinforcing layer 5 formed of a steel cord where a cord angle with respect to the tire peripheral direction is 5°or smaller is inserted into a gap between the first belt layer 1B and second belt layer 2B. The reinforcing layer 5 is divided at an interval W1 of 30-50% of the width W0 of the second belt layer in a central part in the width direction.
