PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase of the weight of a tire, to reduce the vibration of the tire and to suppress the generation of a buckling phenomenon. SOLUTION: The pneumatic radial tire is formed with a plurality of circumferential grooves 4 formed on the stepping surface of a tread 1; and reinforcement rubber 5 arranged inside a part corresponding to at least a side wall 2. Respective reinforcement layers 9 covering only a side are arranged at the outer peripheral side of a belt 8. Arrangement areas of respective reinforcement layers 9 are made to fall in a range between a position spaced from a belt side edge toward the side of the tread 1 by 0.5-7.5% of a tread stepping surface width TW and a position spaced from the groove center of a shoulder circumferential groove 4 positioned at the outermost side of the stepping surface in the width direction toward the central side of the tread by 5-10% of the tread stepping surface width. An intersection angle of a cord constituting the reinforcement layer 9 relative to a tire equatorial plane is made to be 40-90°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
