SOLUTION: In a printer (recorder) 10 for recording on a sheet by reciprocating a carriage 19 mounting a recording head 18, a temperature sensor 52 for detecting the environmental temperature is provided and at least any one of the acceleration before the carriage 19 reaches a specified speed and the acceleration when the carriage 19 is decelerated from the specified speed is altered based on the environmental temperature detected by the temperature sensor.
