PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a thumb-putting position while improving a holding feeling by a holding hand when a spinning reel is mounted. SOLUTION: The fishing rod is constituted by covering a region in front of a side hood 12A by a prescribed length at least at the reverse side of a reel-carrying face 12B in a grip region of a reel-fixing device having the reel-carrying face 12B, with a grip member 20B formed out of a natural or artificial cork material or an expanded synthetic resin material, and arranging a member 28 harder than the grip member at a part of the region with which the tip part from the first joint (the tip side joint) of the thumb contacts when the reel-fixing and attaching part is held while attaching the spinning reel, in the region of the grip member.
