The ball linkage bearing (40) provides a torque transfer coupling between 2 shaft ends in an automobile drive train and has an outer bearing ring (50) received within a bearing housing (42), having a spherical internal surface cooperating with the spherical outer surface of an inner bearing ring (60) having a central opening (64) for a supported component. A coupling is provided between the bearing rings for maintaining them in a coaxial position during mounting of the bearing, with destruction of this coupling upon relative deflection of the bearing rings under normal operating conditions.
