PURPOSE: A rotary compressor is provided to enable compression in clockwise and counterclockwise rotation of a driving shaft, to enable variation of compression capacity, and to exactly obtain compression efficiency required. CONSTITUTION: A rotary compressor comprises a driving shaft(13) rotating in clockwise and counterclockwise directions and having an eccentric part(13a); a cylinder(21) constituting inner volume of a predetermined size; a roller(22) constituting a fluid chamber(29) for suction and compression of a fluid together with the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder while rolling along the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder; a vane(23) elastically installed to the cylinder to continuously come in contact with the roller; a first bearing(24) rotatably supporting the driving shaft; a second bearing(300) rotatably supporting the driving shaft and guiding a fluid to the fluid chamber; discharge ports(26a,26b) communicating with the fluid chamber; and a valve assembly(400) having openings(411,412) separated at a predetermined angle and making the fluid, flowing in through the second bearing, selectively flow into the fluid chamber. The center of the valve assembly is eccentric from the center of the cylinder.
