PURPOSE: A high temperature-preventing device of a scroll compressor is provided to prevent high temperature of exceeding predetermined temperature from being produced by closing a discharge port of a compressing part if the inside of a hermetic vessel exceeds the predetermined temperature. CONSTITUTION: A scroll compressor comprises a hermetic vessel; a main frame installed to the inside of the hermetic vessel; a fixed scroll(20) having a discharge port(6) formed in the middle part, for discharge of discharge gas; a rotary scroll engaging with the fixed scroll and rotating; a crankshaft driving the rotary scroll; a motor rotating the crankshaft and having an overload-protecting device; and a rotation-preventing mechanism preventing rotation of the rotary scroll. A high temperature-preventing device of the scroll compressor comprises a valve housing(28) installed to the upper part of the fixed scroll; a piston valve(27) opening and shutting the discharge port while sliding inside the valve housing; and a valve-shutoff unit(30) installed between the valve housing and the upper part of the piston valve. The valve-shutoff unit closes the discharge port by pushing the piston valve toward the discharge port if the temperature of discharge gas exceeds predetermined temperature.
