<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored particle dispersion which has the handleability, low smell and safeness and also the suitability for a writing water-base ink, water-base printing ink and information-recording ink and which has a small particle diameter of dispersed particles and the excellent dispersion stability and preservation stability of the dispersion, and to provide an ink containing this and an ink-jet recording method using this ink. <P>SOLUTION: The colored particle dispersion having colored particles dispersed in an aqueous medium, contains a dispersible polymer having together a hydrophilic polymer part and the hydrophobic polymer part having a Tg of not higher than 0°C and an oil-soluble dyestuff; the ink uses this dispersion; and the ink-jet recording method uses this ink.
