<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing method by which a napping state and a nap cutting state are selectively performed, a developing device by which the deterioration of the efficiency of image forming operation is prevented and also the consumption of toner is suppressed in an image forming apparatus provided with the developing device and the image forming apparatus provided with the developing device. <P>SOLUTION: The developing method is provided with a first process to perform control to shift developer in specified concentration to the specified area of an upstream part from an electrostatic latent image forming area on an image carrier by preceding developing operation for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the image carrier with the developer, and/or a second process to perform control to shift the developer in the specified concentration to the specified area of a downstream part from the electrostatic latent image forming part on the image carrier after finishing operation for sticking the developer to the electrostatic latent image on the image carrier so as to form an image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
