<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device for a vehicle capable of appropriately performing tension control by a first pretensioner in accordance with a brake pedal operation and the operating state of an ABS. <P>SOLUTION: This seat belt device is provided with a brake pedal stroke sensor 20 for detecting a brake manipulated variable of the vehicle, a means for detecting an output signal of an ABS controller 51, and a first controller 30 for controlling tension when winding a webbing 11 by the first pretensioner 16 when the generation of emergency braking is determined based on detected data of a brake pedal stroke sensor 20 and detected data of the ABS controller 51.
