<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of efficient dimming under output control over a light source, preferably, dimming corresponding to a color distribution of a display image, and its dimming method. <P>SOLUTION: The display device can have its display image adjusted by varying the quantity of light. Further, the display device is equipped with a plurality of light sources having light emitting diodes, an image analysis part 34 which outputs a light source control signal for controlling outputs of the respective light sources according to the image signal of the display image, and light source control means 15 to 17 which control the outputs of the respective light sources according to the light source control signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
