<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data encoding method capable of shortening a processing time required for encoding data, and to provide a data encoder employing the method and an image processor. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for encoding a plurality of AC coefficients, generated by quantizing a pixel block composed of a specified number of pixels in image data after orthogonal conversion, sequentially from the low frequency side toward a high frequency side, the number of effective AC coefficients among the plurality of AC coefficients is detected previously and encoding is stopped when the effective AC coefficients are encoded by only the number that has been detected previously. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
