PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit or receive electronic data while protecting a copyright. SOLUTION: An AV communication system includes a home network 1 within a certain home, a transmitting device 2 and a receiving device 3 which are connected to the home network 1. An AV stream in which the protocol type (RTP, for example) and the value of a payload type to be used by this protocol are attached to the payload in which AV data that require the copyright protection, is encrypted, is transmitted from the transmitting device 2 to the receiving device 3, so that the receiving device 3 that has received this AV stream can easily detect that the AV data are encrypted, and easily identify data for which the authentication and key exchange is required.
