PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably increase the data volume per unit time with the same band width in a multi-carrier communication device. SOLUTION: A modulator 102 successively primarily modulates data 101 being the first transmission data by, for example, QPSK modulation. A pattern generation part 104 generates a pattern of a specific signal which assigns a plurality of subcarriers arrayed in the direction of the frequency axis to respective subcarriers of a matrix constituted by arraying a plurality of symbols in the direction of the time axis. This pattern is determined on the basis of data 103 being the second transmission data. A mapping part 105 assigns subcarriers modulated by data 101 in the modulator 102 and the pattern of the specific signal to respective subcarriers of the matrix. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
