PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp having a reliable heat dissipation structure. SOLUTION: The electrodeless discharge lamp includes a bulb 1 having a hollow portion 2 and discharge gas sealed inside, an induction coil 4 which is housed in the hollow portion 2 and generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field in the bulb 1, a bobbin 3 holding the induction coil 4, an approximately tubular core 5 which is housed inside the bobbin 3 and efficiently generates the high-frequency electromagnetic field generated by the induction coil 4 toward the bulb 1, and a heat dissipating element 6 which holds the core 5 from an inner side and dissipates heat of the core 5. A spriral-wound spring member 7 is placed between the core 5 and the heat dissipating element 6, and the core 5 and the heat dissipating element 6 are thermally connected. The spring member 7 is made of a sheet plate consisting of an alloy of which main composition is aluminum or copper and formed by winding into a spiral shape. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
