PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignitor for a pellet stove, allowing easy and quick ignition of processed fuel and having improved durability. SOLUTION: In the pellet stove, when a heater 74 for the ignitor 70 is energized to generate heat, a bimetal 72 is heated and deformed to be curved and its front end is protruded on the upper face of a rooster 32. The heater 74 mounted on the front end of the bimetal 72 has therefore contact with a wood pellet 14 carried onto the upper face of the rooster 32. The wood pellet 14 on the upper face of the rooster 32 is heated and ignited. On the other hand, when the wood pellet 14 is completely ignited, a timer shuts off the energization of the heater 74, the bimetal 72 is cooled by air fed from the lower part of the rooster 32 and restored into an original shape and the front end of the bimetal 72 and the heater 74 are set back to the lower part of the rooster 32.
