PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic preventing hair performed with a coloring/bleaching from discoloration with time caused by an effect of chlorine contained in tap water. SOLUTION: This cosmetic for preventing the hair from discoloration is characterized by blending an organic amine compound containing at least one 8-30C straight chain or branched chain alkyl or alkenyl in its molecule and exhibiting 40-400 mg/g amine value, and/or its salt. The cosmetic for preventing the hair from discoloration can catch chlorine contained in the tap water used in washing the hair, and exhibits an excellent effect of inhibiting the discoloration of the hair with time.
